Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology

The laboratory is well equipped with the state of art equipment and machinery required for imparting knowledge. These well furnished laboratories cater to the practice requirements of the subjects Technology of Drugs and Cosmetics, Biopharmaceutics, Physical Pharmacy, Dispensing Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical engineering and Unit operation.

Major Equipment: U-Tube manometer, Inclined manometer, Orifice meter, Ventury meter, Rota meter, Ejector pump, Analytical weight balance, Oswald's stalagnomenter, Oswald's viscometer, Microscope, Centrifuge, Hot air oven, Sieves set, 16 station tablet punching machine, Monsanto hardness tester, Pfizer type hardness tester, Roche's friabilitor, Disintegration test appratus, Dissolution test appratus, etc.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

These well furnished laboratories provide facilities for practical training in pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry, synthesis and structural elucidation of medicinally important compounds. Practical training is also offered in medicinal chemistry, biochemistry and inorganic chemistry with well design experiments.

Major equipment: Kipp's apparatus, Analytical Balance, Ostwald viscometer, Stalaometer, pH meter, Refractometer, Stalagmometer, Polarimeter, Uv-Visible spectrophotometer, Fluorophotometer, Uv-chamber etc.

Department of Pharmacology

These well equipped laboratories help train the students in practical studies of anatomy physiology and health education, pharmacology, chemotherapy and bioassay of various drugs. The advanced pharmacology lab is specially designed to carry out animal model experiments for various known and new drugs of chemical and herbal origin.

Major equipment: Compound Microscope, Heamoglobinometer, Heamocytometer, Stethoscope, Mercury Sphygmomanometer, Pole Climbing appratus, Rotarod appratus, Convulsometer, Analgesiometer, Eddy's Hot Plate, Rediant head analgesiometer, Hutchison's Spirometer, Actophotometer, Perspex bath assembly, Sherrington's rotating drum, etc.

Department of Pharmacognosy

Studies on drugs from herbal origin are increasing day by day. These laboratories assist the students acquire skills of identification morphological uses, and formulation aspects of various medicinal and aromatic plats of traditional values. Special facilities have been created to impart training in tissue culture techniques.

Major equipment: Simple microscope, Compound microscope, Muffle Furnace, Soxhlet Appratus. Clavenger Appratus, Projection microscope, waterbath, magnetic stirrer, Chromatographic column, Camera lucida, mixer-grinder, etc.

Other Facilities

Animal house

A modern animal house on two floors, with separate forgery, wash area, store for animal food, cages for rats, mice, rabbits and guinea pigs, racks for cages and trolleys etc. has been in function for last five years. It has been air-conditioned for better upkeep and care of lab animals.

The collection includes more than 1560 quality books and college also subscribe 7 national journals and 2 international journals for keeping the student and faculty abreast with the latest development in the pharmaceutical science.

Computer lab

This laboratory is equipped with computers with advanced technology for the training of students through computer aided educational soft wares in pharmacy. The students and staff for various projects also use this facility for their work. Internet facility is also provided for the students and staff to have an access to recent developments.


The institute also possesses an auditorium with a sitting capacity of 300 persons, and inbuilt facilities of a public address system and audiovisual systems. It has become an ideal setting for conducting scientific seminar and symposia.

Administrative block

A well laid out institute office with Principal office, Director's chamber, waiting room, strong room and conference room for routine staff meetings. The office is equipped with modern gadgets like computers, printers, INTERNET, telephones and FAX facilities.
